LUV-A-K9 History

LUV-A-K9 has operated in the Kingston area for over 25 years. Our obedience program, developed by Lynn Ewart with her extensive knowledge is both comprehensive and effective. Lynn has retired and has graciously handed the reins over to me.

With a 24 year history of working my sighthounds in obedience, conformation, agility, lure coursing and Rally O, it was a natural step to acquire LUV-A-K9. Fifteen years ago, with Lynn’s support, I developed the first comprehensive agility program in the Kingston area and many of our students compete very successfully and all of them have a great time!

LUV-A-K9 SPECIAL EVENTS

The highlight of 2008 - we were the opening act for RCMP MUSICAL RIDE at SKY’S THE LIMIT! A wonderful time was had by all – it was fabulous! We are very proud of our contribution to this community fundraiser over the past 10 years!

At our 2010 New Year’s Day Agility Match Fundraiser we raised $600 for the Salvation Army and almost filled the Food Bank Bin for Partners in Mission Food Bank. Thank you so much to all of our participants and helpers – let’s do this again in 2011!

MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS

Stacey (Obedience) – An amazing instructor! Thanks for your support Stacey!

Kim (Obedience, CGN) – fun, funny, but what a knowledge base – super instructor! Kim is also an evaluator for CGN and TPOC and member of CKC and various breed clubs.

Gwen (Obedience, Agility, Rally O, Show Handling) - featuring motivational training, these classes are loaded with fun for both dog and handler! Evaluator for GCN and TPOC, member of CKC, CAPPDT, IPTDA. **New** - individual ($60/hr), semi private ($25/hr ea) or small group ($20/hr ea) training for obedience, Rally or agility – call Derek to book – daytime spots are available.

Savannah – Too shy to show your own dog? Savannah will bring your dog in the ring! She has successfully shown dogs in Junior Handling and in Regular classes - she is now offering Show Ring Handling and her fees are as follows; – Class - $25 – Winners Dog/Bitch = $15 - BOB = $25 Group = $10 – Group 1^st = $25, 2^nd = $20, 3^rd = $15, 4^th $10 Best in Show = $75 Best Puppy in Show = $50 Call Derek and leave your number – Savannah will get back to you.

Derek (Class Co-ordinator) – the phone guy! The ever cheerful, very dedicated, 24/7 phone guy, Derek is always ready to register you for class or assist with any question or problem you may have, 9:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m 7 days a week! Call him at 613-389-2895.

Thanks as well to our long time assistants Savannah & Deb (Agility & Obedience), and welcome to our new obedience assistants Sherrill & Alice, we couldn’t manage without your commitment and support guys – Thank you! There are a multitude of students who have helped at demo’s, shows, competitions – they are far too numerous to mention, but we could not have accomplished all we did without them! Thank you to all of you!
